1 RGJ BAND MEMORIAL REGENTS PARK
Wednesday 20th July saw the 29th year of the Bandstand Meeting.
Members of 1 RGJ Band, family’s, RGJ (and former regiments) plus others joined us at the café and then on to the Bandstand to pay their respects.
I asked Richard Frost to say a few words on our behalf. This was followed by the laying of wreaths and some flowers.
Some farewells and goodbyes were made by those in attendance with some of the Band members and family’s going back to Davies Street for a few light refreshments - most left here and wandered home and a few went next door for a few hours before making their way home.
This year we will meet same time, same place - see you on Friday 20th July. (already mentioned on page 3)
The London Branch and others met to pay their respects on Sunday 17th July, (the nearest Sunday to the 20th July). The laying of wreaths and flowers were followed by a few words spoken by Gary Driscal, the London Branch Secretary. The Last post and reveille played before people drifted off to a pub lunch then on their way home.
